While at the mall a few years ago, Becky’s then four year old nephew, Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, “Where’s the line to see Jesus?”

We’ve all heard it said that music is the universal language, and it’s so true. No other vehicle more powerfully captures our collective hopes and fears or more poignantly celebrates our dreams and triumphs. With one listen to the music of Tenth Avenue North, it becomes obvious that songwriter Mike Donehey and his bandmates have a gift for expressing truth in a way that simultaneously educates, enlightens and entertains.

Millions of people have lost their jobs as a result of this recession. You may be one of them. While the stock market has shown some positive movement, it’s unclear whether things will genuinely improve soon or if the rally we’ve seen is a false one.
So how does a person of faith deal with the loss of their job and not lose their faith?
How to Organize a Church – The New Testament Church

The Greek word from which we get the term church is ekklesia. It is in the New Testament that we see this term come to have its technical sense of a group of people who have gathered for the purpose of instruction and worship. It is used in the broadest sense of the universal church – that body of all believers in Christ from Pentecost to the rapture e.g. ‘I will build my church’ Matthew 16:18. In another facet of meaning it could be used of believers in a certain city e.g. Revelation 1-3. It was also used in the New Testament to describe those believers meeting in one location Romans 16:3-5.

The Old Testament lays the foundation for the teachings and events found in the New Testament. First, the Old Testament is of great importance to Christians because it is inspired of God (2 Tim. 3.16-17). Some Christians ignore the Old Testament and focus on the New, but only those who read the New in light of the Old can really learn what God is saying in His Word. The Old Testament provides a fore shadow of the blessing revealed in the New Testament (Hebrews 10: 1).
How Does One Get Into the Church Christ Built?

The individual who complies with the conditions that God gave will be added by God to the church for the same process that makes one a Christian adds him to the church when done from the heart. Only God can know whether or not one truly believes in Jesus from his heart. Only God can know if a man has repented from the heart of his sins. These things being true a man can by all appearances go through the steps essential to salvation but God only knows the sincerity of the heart. I cannot add you to the church even if you by all appearances seem to meet God’s qualifications. Since I cannot know or judge your heart I have to assume your sincerity and honesty and accept you as a child of God, a living stone in God’s church. I would want the same treatment from you. A faithful Christian will never deny such a one the right hand of fellowship.

People that study end-times Bible prophecy (a.k.a. “eschatology”) know that there is an overwhelming amount of evidence suggesting it should be studied-and that it is very relevant for us today. Yet we also encounter people that do not appreciate that concept for a variety of reasons. I hope the following information will help people that already understand the importance of prophecy to better defend their understanding of that matter, and that it will dispel a few common myths that some people believe so they too will fully grasp all that God’s Word has to say about Bible prophecy.
